Frantic fundraising has seen the infrastructure asset class secure a year’s worth of capital in just six months as investors flock to the asset class, says Preqin in its ‘Q2 2022 Infrastructure Report.’ The report shows that $50 billion aggregate capital was raised by just 15 funds in the second quarter. Dry powder (money waiting to be invested in infrastructure projects) was at $319 billion, its lowest share of AuM (assets under management) on record sitting at just below 30 per cent at the end of 2021.
