Retail chief financial officers are looking to 2015 with modest optimism, predicting a 3,9 per cent increase in total sales and 3.7 per cent increase in comparable store sales in the year ahead, says a BDO USA, LLP survey. This is about one percentage point lower than 2014’s bullish projections. Still, nearly two-in-three retailers expect comparable store sales to increase and with 71 per cent of retailers including online sales in their comparable store sales reports, analysts say a considerable amount of this 2015 growth may come from further eCommerce sales, which grew 16 per cent in 2014.
